Psychotherapie Alternder im Wandel

Abstract: The collective repression of death also determines the manner in which we conduct psychotherapy of the elderly. As a result of this repression, idealizations as well as other reactions can take place which can even lead as far as euthanasia. The knowledge we have gained from developmental psychology regarding the ability to learn and develop throughout life contains new possibilities for conducting psychotherapy of the aging. From a constructivist viewpoint-leaving aside ideological formations-different alternatives for action ensue, and they present following the principle of self-renewal in many respects a responsibly created reality.
