Immunmodulation durch Schwermetallbelastungen

Abstract: Exposures to heavy metals are understood as depots of toxic heavy metals in various organs which do yet, indeed, not cause any specific symptoms of intoxication but cause disorders in the basic system according to Pischinger and in the specific immune functions. Apart from the block of basic functions due to phagocytosis through fibrocytes the heavy metals act as enzyme poisons, in the field of resistance through inhibition of the RNA polymerases. In part, the synthesis of IgG is thereby inhibited, in part, pathological immunoglobins are thereby formed. The exposures to heavy metals are mostly combined with deficiency in trace elements therefore, it is often difficult to decide which factor is the main reason for the disorders: the deficiency in trace elements or the depots of toxic metals.
