Vorläufige Auswertung analgetischer Wirkung der neuen Schädelakupunktur nach Yamamoto bei Patienten nach orthopädischen Operationen |
Journal/Book: Deutsche Zeitschrift für Akupunktur. 1991; 34/03: 66-69.
Abstract: The hypalgetic or analgesic effect of the new scalp acupuncture according to T. Yamamoto (YI) was studied on 50 patients who had undergone extensive orthopedic surgery. Treatment commenced on the first postoperative day, at the same postoperative hour for all patients. Before that the changed scope of active movement of the operatd extremity was objectivated for each patient. The importance of short-term switching between low, medium and high frequency stimulation with synchronized increase of the stimulation intensity (always below the pain level) for an increase in the period of the analgetic effect has been demonstrated and explained in a case report. On the one hand the speed of attaining a hypalgetic or analgetic effect with this acupuncture microsystem is demonstrated, and on the other hand the relatively short analgetic effect on patients with peripherial (nociceptive) pain component is emphasized.
