Mikrobiologische Therapie von chronisch entzündlichen Darmerkrankungen (CED)

Abstract: lt is known the introduction of newer salazosulfapyridins (olsalazin, mesalazin) did not produce a significant improvement in the classical therapy of chronic inflamatory disease of the bowel. lt has been observed that enemas using stool from healthy people appear to heal colitis patients (Lancet). These findings along with the recent discoveries in the enteral immune system justify the use of microbiological therapy with mutaflorcoli-Nissle (1917) in ulcerative colitis patients. Preliminary studies are promising and double blind studies have meanwhile begun.
