Increased Resistance to Viral Diseases through Biomolecular Therapy

Abstract: For the prophylaxis and therapy of viral diseases, biomolecular factors can be used which originate from resistant individuals and which are introduced into cells through their binding to liposomes. The liposomes are injected parenterally - if possible intravenously - and they cause an unspecific immunostimulation. Liposomes have so far been used in the treatment of parasitic diseases in order to increase macrophage activity and with local application of cytostatica in order to decrease the side effects of that kind of treatment. In vitro experiments confirm the efficiency of this method, noticeable with human beings and with animals. It strengthens the immunological system in substituting missing or defective parts of the cells for factors from healthy cells.
