Abstract: Investigated the effects of music-mediated health-directed imagery (MMI) and group psychotherapy on the behavioral functioning (BF) and trait stress of 13 arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus patients. One group of Ss received both therapies, while a control group received only MMI. BF improved significantly in the population as a whole. Although there were no significant differences between groups, there was a trend toward greater improvement in the psychotherapy group.
