Abstract: Four schools of psychology contributed to the evolution of the music therapy known as GIM: psychoanalysis, behaviorism, humanistisc psychology, and transpersonal psychology. The GIM method evolved from the use of drugs to induce altered states of consciousness. (D.W. Freed)
