Gardens with medicinal plants

Abstract: The reader is invited to have a walk sui generis through the history of art of some gardens with medicinal plants. The excursion begins with the paradise and the saffron meadows at the frescoes of Knossos in the ancient Crete of King Minos and leads via altar pieces of the gothic and the renaissance to medicinal plants of »modem« artists as Vincent van Gogh.
