Psychosomatic Thinking in Primary Medical Diagnostics |
Journal/Book: Natur- und Ganzheitsmedizin Wissenschaft und Praxis. 1990; 3/2: 57-61.
Abstract: Supported by theoretical considerations and with the help of a case study, it is shown how psychosomatic thinking can work within primary medical diagnostics. Apart from the recognition of feelings of transfer and counter-transfer, the structure of the patient's personality is particularly important for judging psychosomatic disturbances. The case study shows how the situational circular model can assist in the interaction process between doctor and patient and within the environment of the latter. The concept of exclusion diagnostics is critically viewed as capitulation to the complexity of medical connections. At the beginning of the diagnostic chain there should be an overall diagnosis.
