Misconception or Guidepost? The 1978 Study by Gibson et al. on Rheumatoid Arthritis reviewed |
Journal/Book: The Berlin Journal on Research in Homoeopathy. 1990; 1: 77-84.
Abstract: The study under consideration can be criticized in some methodological respects alredy being acknowledged by the authors themselves. Although the Aspirin control group failed almost completely, the validity of the good results in the homoeopathic group can be accepted for various reasons. The fact that different physicians were in charge of the two groups seemed to be a methodological mistake, but according to recent methodological deliberations it can be regarded as an almost necessary precaution. Additionally, as far as we know, this study has been the very first controlled clinical trial in homoeopathy with individual medication.
