Die geläufigen Brustdrüsenerkrankungen aus der Sicht des Pathologen

Abstract: In the specification of the specimens obtained by biopsy of the female mammae three groups of diagnoses appear as a great majority: fibroadenomata (differential diagnosis: phylloides tumor, hamartoma, lipoma) as mostly rounded tumors with a climax as to age in the 4th decade, mastopathic changes with a complex morphological pattern and a frequency as to age in the climateric phase as well as caricnomata in mostly stellar contour and with an over-all climax around the 60th year of age, however, with a wide deviation. In the differential diagnosis the frequency, the characteristic age and the contour of the shadow in the mammogram whould be considered in one train of ideas in order to avail oneself as purposefully as possible of diagnostic methods. Using the triple diagnosis the indication for an exploratory surgical operation with subsequent histological examination may be limited.
