Psychogene Einflüsse des Schmerzerlebens |
Journal/Book: Ärztezeitschrift für Naturheilverfahren. 1990; 31/7: 522-524.
Abstract: A frequent symptom for which the patient sees his doctor is pain. We have learnt to consider this event neurophysiologically. The intensity of the pain shall correspond to the intensity of the stimulus. This model cannot be fully sufficient thinking, for instance, of the sufficiently known, piercing toothache which suddenly disappears in a "magic way" in the waiting-room of the dental surgeon. - The sensation of pain and the behaviour in case of pain shall be explained with the pain concept according to Melzack. The relation to the affective system shall be shown and the interesting gate-control-theory shall be described.
