A retrospective survey of the predictive value of biorhythm theory in acute patients presenting in osteopathic practice |
Abstract: Biorhythm theory claims to be able to predict the occurrence of various undesirable events at certain predetermined times. This paper describes a method of testing the predictive value of biorhythm theory in relation to the onset Of acute symptoms in a group of 128 patients. The theory is also tested in relation to the date that these patients presented at an osteopathic practice. Analysis of the results from this study show that biorhythm theory has no statistically significant predictive value in identifying any temporal relationship between the onset of acute Symptoms, or to the likely date of subsequent presentation of such patients at an osteopathic surgery.
