Abstract: The use and function of drums worldwide is presented and discussed in a compelation of texts concerning rhythm and drums, drawn from such subjects as philosophical anthropology, musicethnography, musichistory, psychotherapy, etc. From here the author presents an analysis of two musictherapeutic case-processes, he himself having the role of therapeutic and client, respectively.
