Abstract: Discusses the use of Rational Emotive Therapy (RET) to analyze emotional and behavioral problems, using the experiences of 2 musicians with stage fright as examples. The central assumption of RET is that feelings are determined by thoughts. RET analysis involves determining the situation of the individual, his or her thoughts about the situation, the individual's goals in the situation, and the individual's efforts to dispel irrational thoughts.
