Abstract: The author describes her experiences in music therapy in terms of past, present and future. The past consisted of involvement in the National Association for Music Therapy and the seemingly endless examination and reexamination of issues. While her present situation is that of a teacher in a private school, she still asks critical questions concerning music therapy. Questions such as "which model of the therapeutic process do we use-behavioral or humanistic?" "Do we combine verbal therapy with the music or should it be only the music that is attended to?" The author describes her work and how she employs music. Also discussed is the task specific to music therapy in her setting and the uniqueness of music therapy in the setting.
