In-vitro Test in der Magen-Darm-Passage von Helianthus tuberosus-Kohlenhydraten

Abstract: On the basis of published empirical reports about the application of different types of extracts and inspissated juice of helianthus tuberosus during the diet and in case of diabetics the path of reserve carbohydrates in artificial gastric and intestinal juice is traced by means of in-vitro experiments.The test results show that-when passing through the stomach and the intestines under normal conditions-no absorbable monosaccharides are released from inulin or polyfructanes. It is only under the extreme conditions of pH I that inulin may be partly digested.The allocation of the fructanes and of inulin itself to the soluble bulk material is discussed.
