Prüfung der Wirksamkeit und Verträglichkeit von Organ-Serum Leber bei Patienten mit chronischen Hepatopathien |

Abstract: A double-blind, multicentric, comparative study was carried out to test efficacy and tolerance of 'Organ-Serum Leber' in patients with chronic hepatopathy. Control drug was 'Lachemistol'.The patients were observed for 12 months. After the end of the therapy, both after 5 weeks and again after 11 months, the liverspecific laboratory values (GOT, GPT, y-G T, AP) were significantly lower than before the treatment. At the end of the observation period the bilirubin values were significantly lowered as well. The intensity of the subjective symptoms decreased. Essential differences between the two treatment groups could not be observed. One of 69 patients in the verum-group broke the study off hecausc of side-effects. Most doctors and patients judged efficacy and tolerance of the therapy to be good or very good.The therapy with 'Organ-Serum Leber' is a well tolerated alternative in the treatment of patients with chronic hepatopathy. The reduction of pathologically increased liver specific enzyme activities demonstrates its efficacy. Even the unexpected efficacy of 'Lachemistol' casts no doubts an its value.
