Massagetherapie - sinnvoll verordnet |

Abstract: When prescribing massage treatment principally two types of massage can be distinguished: 1. The focal point of the trad~itional massage with stroking, kneading, tapping, frottage and vibrations is the normalisation of muscular modifications. Kneading, frot-tage and vibrations may often dissipate quite soon localised pain syndroms. Stroking massage especially in form of manual Iym-phatic drainage is persistently effective in the case of many types of Iymphostasises.2. By applying a specific therapy to certain zones of the body periphery, the massage of reflex zones has a regulatory effect on those inner organs which are linked to the nerve reflexes. The massage of the connective tissue with ist pulling and stroking movements is particularly effective in case of general neurovegetative regulatory disorders as well as in case of functional diseases of the cardiovascular system, of the urogenital organs and of the gastro-in-testinal tract including its appendages. The focal point of the colon treatment is the chronic obstipation, while the treatment of the periosteum may—especially causing a contrastimulus—eliminate many pain syn-droms.In order to obtain a radical and persistent success it may often be useful to combine the traditonal massage with other types of physical therapy and especially with a subsequent kinesitherapy.
