Zur Behandlung von Depressionen - Verbundstudie mit einem pflanzlichen Extrakt aus Johanniskraut

Abstract: In an open multi-centre study an 47patients with depressive illness the efficacy, tolerability and acceptance by patients of an antidepressant of plant origin containing the active ingredient Hypericin was tested. The efficacy of the product was good, particularly in patients with mild to moderate depression. A trial with the product would also appearindicated in severe forms of depression. The preferred target group for treatment is still those patients whose depression has not been manifest for more than 4 weeks and who for this reasonhave not received any other form of psychopharmacological medication. The product was well tolerated and acceptance by the patients was good.
