Importance of temporale factors on the action of infinitesimal doses of interferon alpha beta on the chemiluminescence of mouse peritoneals macrophages

Abstract: Studies on the action of infinitesimal doses require strict standardization of all the cxperimental paramcters. Contradictory results reported in the litterature concerning the in vitro effects of interferon (IFN) on the chemiluminescence (CL) of mouse peritoneal macrophages led us to cvaluate two of these parameters: the influence of the age of mice and the time of cell collection on the macrophage response to IFN. We tested ap IFN at the following concentrations: 104 IU/ml, 1.6 IU/ml and 1.6 10-10 IU/ml (9CH). Peritoneal cells obtained from BALB/c female mice and purified by adherence to plastic were incubated for 16h in the presence of O.lml of each of the 3 . IFN solutions and ages.
