Abstract: Responds to comments by C. Schmais, S. McNiff, and E. C. Irwin (see PA, Vol 76:26739, 26723, and 26706, respectively) on the present author's discussion (see PA, Vol 76:26727) of music and other arts therapies and their parallels to shamanism. The importance of the patient's confidence in the therapist's abilities is emphasized.
