Projection and Transference in the Music Therapy Relationship

Abstract: This paper examines projection and transference, and how it relates to musical performance. In music therapy assessments, projection may play a role in a similar fashion to tests such as the Rorschach Ink blot test. Transferance and countertransference in the music therapy relationship is also discussed.
