Die dabetische Polyneuropathie - Aspekte zur Therapie mit Akupunktur

Abstract: Chronic therapy-resistent painful diabetic polyneuropathy often leads to analgesic abus and social isolation, so that alternative treatment methods must be found. The case studied demonstrates, that acupuncture leads to a better pain control without any side effect.A 64-year-old patient with painful diabetic polyneuropathy that has been treated with schoolmedicine methods for 4 years, which caused opiate dependency without effective pain release, was treated with acupuncture.lt could be demonstrated, that the opiate medication was reduced significantly (97%), the pain release was very effective (57%), social behavior and well-being effectively improved.
