Xylocitin-(Lidocain-)Injektionen in die Schilddrüse bei der Behandlung des Alkoholismus |
Abstract: Alcohol abuse is one of the most significant problems in social medicine and in today's society. Irrelevant of the method applied, the results of psychiatry are unsatisfying. The combination of intravenous injections and thyroid injections with 0.5% Lidocain (= Xylocitin in the GDR) solutions administered in weekly intervals has achieved an obvious vegetative change and a relaxing effect which have proved to be worthwile in the ambulant treatment of alcohol addicts. Neurovegetative and psychovegetative accompanying symptoms usually occurring during the withdrawal therapy and then leading to a failure, could be essentially reduced. The results achieved by this can without doubt be compared with those achieved during the usual stationary psychiatric treatment. The treatment has not led to any complications.
