Histophysiologie der enteralen Aufnahme von mikrodimensionierten Pollen

Abstract: The epithelium of isolated rings of the small gut of cattle is able to transfer microdimensionized pollen within 20 minutes to the connective tissue of the underlying propria. Pollen fragments more than 3 gm in diameter are not transferred during the observation time of 4 hours. Small pollen fragments released from the basolateral sites of epithelial cells into intercellular spaces can be taken up by M-cells. They present these antigenic substances to macrophages and lymphocytes. In this way microdimensionized pollen is a very effective paraimmune stimulator of the body defence system.
