Enzymtherapie bei chronischer Poliarthritis

Abstract: 51 patients suffering from established chronic polyarthritis were tested with a randomized therapy study using Wobenzym or Auranofin, respectively, for a period of 6 months. After acute exacerbations of the chronic polyarthritis were treated additionally to this basic therapy at the same time with adrenocortical steroids or ACTH for initially 23 weeks, the patients continued to receive only the enzyme mixture or the oral gold preparation as well as nonsteroidal antirheumatic agents.It became evident that in the case of most of the tested clinical parameters an improvement could be stated for both therapy groups after 6 months. This improvement was significant for most of the patients.As to the tolerance Wobenzym showed better results.
