Messung der unspezifischen Luftwegshyperreaktivitat vor und nach Akupunktur (stimuli)

Abstract: In ten children with constant exercise-induced asthma, the reversible unspecific bronchial reactivity was assessed by methacholin provocative challenge before and after ten laser acupuncture applications to specific acupuncture points, and two weeks after termination of acupuncture treatment. Following this therapy, a significant decrease in the rise of Raw (p < 0.001) was observed; in addition, the decrease in FEV1 (p < 0.02) and the tolerance to cumulative methacholin provocation dose PD 20 (p < 0.02) changed significantly. Two weeks after termination of acupuncture treatment, a further increase in bronchial tolerance was observed; in agreement with the results of methacholin provocative tests considerable clinical improvement was also observed. Bronchial hyperactivity in childhood can develop into chronic obstructive disease in the adult.
