Experiencing music. (Trans K. Aro) |
Journal/Book: Psychoanalytic Study of the Child. 1987; 42: 511-530.
Abstract: Presents an elaborated version of an article by the present author (see PA, Vol 73:26780) concerning the idea that music represents abstract forms of feelings without specific content. These forms are thought to be based on preverbal bodily experiences, called archaic meaning schemata by L. Szekely (1962). These bodily schemata gradually integrate with the symbolic process.
