Body image remediation through creative arts therapy
Journal/Book: Pratt Institute Creative Arts Therapy Review. 1987; 8: 35-44.
Abstract: Notes that distorted self-depictions in artwork often reflect disturbances in children's body images and discusses the relative therapeutic merits of body tracing vs kinesthetic and social feedback in the course of body image remediation. It is suggested that an effective approach combines information about the body with projective art experiences and physical movement games.
