Abstract: Conducted traditional and music- and dancing-based reality orientation (RO) therapies with 15 geriatric patients who exhibited mild to severe confusion, disorientation, and memory loss. Results show a nonsignificant increase in orientation in Ss who received music/dance therapy. Ss with severe organic brain syndrome made fewer gains in RO across groups, but all members showed substantial social and emotional improvement. Practical suggestions are given for conducting music/dance RO therapy groups.
