Zur Akupunkturbehandlung der akuten Sinusitis bei Kindern und Erwachsenen

Abstract: Over a period of six months 152 patients with sinusitis maxillaris (100 adults and 52 children) in two groups were compared between acupuncture treatment and the conventional therapy. The regular sinusitis therapy included inhalations, antibiotics and vasoconstringent nose-drops. The acupuncture treatment was performed by needling the following points: Di 4, 20; BI 2, 10; PaM 1; LG 19. In children acupuncture was done by laser-radiation. In adults we were not able to evaluate any significant differences between the conventional sinusitis therapy and acupuncture treatment. On the contrary the better results in children's sinusitis with acupuncture were remarkable. During the follow-up study endoscopic pictures, rhinomanometry, X-ray and bacteriological examinations were routinely examined.
