Abstract: Since nutritional diseases can be prevented or im-proved by selecting the correct foods, one should select an alternative to the customary diet of today. One such diet adapted to today's needs is the full va-lue diet. In addition to the general goal of providing the body with an optimal supply of all essential nutri-tive substances, it also pursues humanitarian and ecological goals. The fundamental principle of the full value diet: "Leave our food as natural as possible" recommends the low-level use of chemical agents in agriculture, and a low degree of processing of the foodstuffs. The selection of foods making up the whole value diet is made an the basis of quality crite-ria, arranged in categories ranging from highly re-commended to not recommended.
