Abstract: This article contains an interview with Wim ter Burg, going into his book "Meer met Muziek". He gives some examples of his working method and tries to answer the question of what makes music so suitable in the care of mentally handicapped. Also, he makes a plea for a conscious handling of music and silence in order to improve listening.
