Abstract: Discusses redemption in Wagner's dreams, based on analysis of C. Wagner's collection of 421 of his dreams. It is proposed that R. Wagner's fantasy involves deliverance from loneliness, helplessness, and misunderstanding into a state of maternal protection. Wagner's dream fantasy about the man-woman relationship is expressed in various ways in his music.
