The Functional Approach to Music Therapy Assessment

Abstract: This paper presents a sample music therapy program, presented to two subjects assessed as severely intellectually disabled, and evaluated using an adapted version of an assessment scale published in the Australian Music Therapy Association Bulletin, Sept. 1982. A near perfect correlation between improvement of behavior and stimulation intervention was observed.
