Musictherapist - in who's interest?
Abstract: Reflection on a pedagogical process with a group of Turkish pre-schoolchildren (supplied with Danish kindergartenchildren) aiming to facilitate the difficult proces of imigrated children starting school. Introducing two themes are discussed: a) the cultural background of the Turkish children as opposed to the Danish do, b) the authors pedagogical aims and means. The pretential of musictherapy to this end is demonstrated as three main issues 1) music 2) religion and morals 3) concepts of illness and treatment are contantly filtered through the three perspectives: Turkish culture, Danish and Western culture, the musictherapists (the authors) culture.
