Abstract: The desire of a music therapist to have further training in psychotherapy is described here following several years working in a psychotherapeutic clinic. It includes a summary of the experiences of the therapist with psychodynamic groupwork and changing perceptions of his role and style in such situations. The major change for him being the transition from directive to non-directive with his therapeutic awareness broadening to include every part of a session. He also describes how clients begin to be analytical and more sensitive to each other.
