Advanced competencies in music therapy |
Journal/Book: Music Therapy. 1986; 6a: 57-67.
Abstract: Suggests that after completing entry level training, music therapists are frequently called on to expand their professional roles and responsibilities. With such development comes the need for greater expertise in various areas of the discipline: music, clinical practice, theory, research, creative arts therapies, college teaching, supervision, and administration. The areas of knowledge and skills necessary for the expansion of professional roles and responsibilities are identified and competency objectives for graduate or advanced-level training in music therapy are proposed.
