The training course music therapist in Vienna

Abstract: Since in Belgium, the education for musical therapy is non-existing, I studied in Vienna. The Viennese school, the oldest in Europe, offers a very well-founded training on the scientific en more specifically on the musical-psychological level. The program consists of both a theoretical- scientific education and a musical-therapeutic training. Also the musical self-expirience, by which the own identity of the therapists is formed, is one of the main elements. The students also have to run a term of probation in psychiatry, children-pscyhiatry and psychosomatics. In Belgium, the element of music is mainly used in psychiatry and the psycho-social sector.
