Abstract: This paper examines the influence of electroacupuncture (EAP) stimulation on the Serotonin-Monoaminoxydase (MAO)-system in blood of women in labour, at the moment of exhaustion, The results showed, that the condition of Serotonin-MAO-System was transforrned, which indicates, that this amin has to do with the influence of EAP on the contractions of the uterus. The results prove further, that Serotonin-metabolism can be influenced by the method of reflexotherapy (RT). Thus RT can be of prophylactic and therapeutic use for women in labour with weak uterus contractions and exhaustion during labour work.
