Music therapy and Love |
Journal/Book: Musiktherapeutische Umschau. 1985; 7: STUTTGART. 1-7.
Abstract: After giving a resumé of the various forms of love at different stages of human life, the author concentrates on the balance between love of others and love of self. A number of striking case studies illustrate the process in music therapy by which this balance can be restored. Musical improvisation by the music therapist and the client is central to the treatment process. This improvisation can create an atmosphere that allows the client to be him/herself, to show emotions and become certain of him-herself in the music therapist's echo.
