The "Wild Man" and "soft music" |

Abstract: The central expressive medium ia the freely improvised music, which actualizes the past, the present and the phantasies of the patient in a musical form. By playing with the patient, the music therapist has immediate access to his world, so that the musical interpretations of the patient's sounds can lead to a basic dialog and understanding of his needs and conflicts. This case-study shows how this musical interaction and the dynamic process in the music therapy provoke new developments in the patient's experience and behaviour.
