A Music Therapy Project with a group of Profoundly Mentally Handicapped Adults |
Abstract: This paper briefly describes a music therapy research project with a group of profoundly mentally handicapped adults. The project evaluated how effective music therapy was in achieving a set of objectives and compared the efficacy of music therapy to that of play activities. Background information is given and the aims, methods and results of the investigation are summarised. Videotapes were used to evaluate progress and the way in which information was collected from these videotapes is described in some detail. This paper is available from the BSMT Price ú3.
