Evaluation of Music Therapy Programme for the Confused Elderly with Particular Reference to Alzheimer's Desease

Abstract: This article describes the effectiveness of music based activities to increase the participation levels of five elderly ladies over a twenty week period. The special needs of the group were to reduce social isolation, to encourage self expression, and improve reality orientation. The result highlighted the needs of patients in advanced stages of diseases leading to dementia.
