Abstract: Cytochrome C, which is an antihypoxic agent, can penetrate through the impaired cellular membranes to be involved in energy metabolism of ischemized cells. It can also stimulate collateral blood flow. The agent included into the complex treatment of 56 patients with cerebrocardiac syndromes produced a favourable effect on the course of the disease. Cytochrome C can be used for treating acute vascular disorders of the brain and heart.
