Musiikki psykoanalyyttisessa viitekehyksessa. / Music in a psychodynamic reference frame |
Journal/Book: Psykologia. 1984; 19: 330-335.
Abstract: Discusses the enjoyment of music in relation to the acoustic-emotional experiences of early childhood, gestalt psychology, and the psychodynamic meaning of auditory stimuli (i.e., different sounds having strong emotional connotations). It is suggested that music can, at the same time, protect the ego from painful situations and feelings and also enable unconscious needs and feelings to become conscious. This makes music and musical interest important to the mental health of the individual and shows the necessity of further developing the theory of music therapy and art education. (23 ref)
