Speech therapy and music therapy with the treatment of aphasia

Abstract: In this graduation thesis for the training for Speech Therapist, general methods and aims in speech therapy and in music therapy are compared. From this, interrelationships are drawn, and forms of cooperation suggested, with special reference to the treatment of aphasia, a field little studied until then. Preceded by descriptions of research into musical functions and of the Melodic Intonation Therapy (M.I.T.), and concluded by a bibliography and a explanatory list of words.
