My self . . . through music, movement and art
Journal/Book: Arts in Psychotherapy. 1984; 11: 203-208.
Abstract: Describes a multi-art (music, movement, and art) project in which 8 emotionally handicapped children, aged 6-8 yrs, participated. Objectives of the project included facilitating awareness of body parts, awareness of feelings, improvement in self-concept, and increased self-expression and self-acceptance. It is concluded that the program objectives were met, with Ss' enthusiasm and body awareness continuing beyond the initial project. The project is currently being expanded with a class of learning disabled, multihandicapped 5-8 yr olds.
