Abstract: Music affects the emotional state of the listener as well as the individual's performance on sensory and motor tasks. The present research investigated the effect of musical preference on anxiety between: music and nonmusic majors; males and females of each group; and females and males, regardless of sex, to determine the interaction effect. Results showed that there were significant differences in responses between each of the stated groups.
